SRF Presents at ISA Sign Expo

SRF’s research educates city officials, business owners, and architects on the effective design and regulation of signage. They have helped ISA work with over 12,000 planners across the country to write better sign codes. SRF has curated several sessions based on their research into sign design, permitting and other important factors. You can register below for those, along with two tours showing the science behind experiential design.

SRF Presents: Drawn to Life presented by Cirque du Soleil and Disney

With Exclusive Behind the Stage Tour*

Friday, April 12, 2024, 7:00 PM – 11:00 PM

Your experience will start with the Drawn to Life show, featuring inventive design, acrobatic performances, and stunning choreography. After the 90-minute show, a customized and private 75-minute behind-the-scenes tour demonstrates the innovative use of the nine-story set for the art of experiential storytelling. 

Only 50 tickets available per night, so register now to guarantee your spot!

Note that some areas will be hard to access for those with limited mobility. The tour is limited to those ages 16 and up. To register someone under the age of 18, please email info@signresearch.org.

*Transportation to the event is included and buses will leave promptly at 7:00 PM.

SRF Presents: The Orlando Science Center

Immersive Tour Behind the Exhibits*
Friday, April 12, 2024, 1:30 PM – 5:30 PM

Your journey will start with a tour as Orlando Science Center staff guide you through the museum's exhibits and experiences, including the newest exhibit opening in Spring 2024, Life – an immersive educational encounter with live animals. There will also be a visit to The Hive, an in-house makerspace, along with a tour of OSC’s fabrication shop. Following the tour, there will be time to freely explore all four floors of the Science Center and its interactive exhibits. 

Note that some areas will be hard to access for those with limited mobility. The tour is limited to those ages 8 and up. To register someone under the age of 18, please email info@signresearch.org.

From, “Hey, I need a sign!” to “Sign Installation & Inspection,' The Life of a Sign will share the journey of a current sign project.  How it came to be?  What were the steps involved to get the sign to manufacturing?  Once in manufacturing, what happens?  After the signage is assembled, how do we get it installed?

SRF Presents: Interpreting Sign Ordinances – 3 Quick Hacks for Project Managers

Designers and communities should be aware that the size and placement of signs affects the ability of all traffic to see and understand them in time to make travel safe. SRF has distilled available research regarding sign conspicuity and legibility to help educate local officials so that they write sign regulations which promote traffic safety, and/or educate designers with these principals when seeking variance from a prohibitive sign ordinance.

How to gauge the right tech to add capabilities to your offering and keep on top of new trends.
