4 Pre-Conference Workshops & a Keynote Inspire New Ideas & Offer Tangible Growth Opportunities

Education Session Audience

Three booming business growth opportunities, an in-demand skill and a bank robber-turned-lawyer all are on tap as special events at ISA International Sign Expo 2022.

Shon Hopwood, the event’s May 4 keynote speaker, details his journey from bank robber to Supreme Court-winning attorney and shares his tips for accomplishing any big goal. In addition to his gripping personal story, he details the importance of perseverance despite criticism, and chasing big dreams at the expense of instant gratification.

“I’ve heard Shon speak and I can tell you just how inspiring his story is,” said Lori Anderson, ISA president and CEO. “His is a powerful narrative of second chances. I have no doubt that those who attend will believe they can accomplish anything, just as he has.”

In addition to the keynote, four pre-conference workshops will provide in-depth exploration of the latest business trends and techniques in rapidly growing areas like dynamic digital signage and wide format print. All pre-conference workshops are Tuesday, May 3:

  • “Dynamic Digital Workshop, sponsored by Watchfire and presented by Sign Builder Illustrated,” a day-long conference, looks at the growth opportunities in digital signage, opportunities in indoor digital signage, content management and selling techniques. It also includes a panel session with companies that have successfully expanded into this market that is expected to top $38 billion by 2030.
  • “Finding Success with Wide Format Print,” a half-day session, showcases the opportunities in wide format print. Bill Farquarson of Aspire For brings his selling skills to discuss the top vertical markets and applications, the most effective marketing strategies and tips for cross selling.
  • “Business Bootcamp for Wrap Professionals by Avery Dennison,” a day-long workshop, brings two noted wrap experts—Justin Pate and John Deuver—to detail the unique business challenges of running a wrap company. Attendees will learn key aspects of business ownership, including sales, marketing and upselling. The Business Boot Camp is designed to facilitate growth, long-term and short-term, by streamlining workflow to increase profits.
  • “Developing Exemplary Project Management Teams,” a half-day conference, brings popular speaker Karen Vanhoy of Atlas Signs to discuss the tools, techniques, technology and processes needed to create a successful project management team. The session is designed for project managers, or those who manage these teams.
