IllumiWrap Installation Competition

Day: Wednesday, April 23, 2025

Time: 12:30 PM – 1:30 PM

Description: Put your downlighting installation skills to the test in the IllumiWrap Installation Challenge by Principal Industries! Contestants will race against the clock to properly install IllumiWrap, a highly efficient downlight illumination system designed for seamless mounting on buildings and signs. The challenge isn’t just about speed—it’s about precision and ensuring a flawless installation that enhances both visibility and safety. Participants will be judged on speed, accuracy, and overall execution as they work to highlight architectural features and achieve bright, uniform illumination. Think you have what it takes to master IllumiWrap? Step up, install, and illuminate!

Team Size: 2 participants per team (Single sign-ups are allowed and will be paired)

Structural Adhesives 101: No-Weld SignComp Box Demo & Competition

Day: Wednesday – April 23, 2025

Time: 2:00 PM – 3:00 PM

Description: Join us for an interactive session focused on the fundamentals of structural adhesives, featuring a hands-on workshop and a friendly cabinet build competition using SignComp extrusion! This session will include:

Hands-On Adhesive Dispensing Clinic: Get practical experience in dispensing adhesives effectively.
Introduction to Structural Adhesives: Learn the basics of structural adhesives and discover key products used in sign assembly.
Live Demo and Competition: Watch a demonstration of the no-weld construction of metal sign boxes, followed by a competition to test your skills!
Spotlight on LORD® 810 Structural Adhesive: Gain insights into the featured sign product, LORD® 810, and its applications in the industry.

Border Tube Installation Competition

Day: Thursday – April 24, 2025

Time: 10:30 AM – 11:30 AM

Description: Show off your lighting expertise in the Flexible Border Layout Challenge! Contestants will be provided with boarder tube by Principal Sloan and tasked with illuminating a routed-out piece of acrylic. Precision and creativity are key as participants strategically place the flex border to achieve optimal lighting coverage and visual appeal. Judging will be based on accuracy, efficiency, and overall design—are you ready to shine?

Controlling Illumination

Day: Thursday – April 24, 2025

Time: 1:00 PM – 2:00 PM

Description: Join us for an exclusive hands-on workshop with Gary Colburn at Principal Services, where you’ll dive deep into the world of RGB. This interactive session will cover everything from basic setup to advanced programming, giving you the knowledge and confidence to unlock the full potential of these powerful lighting control systems. Layout to Installation Competition

Day: Friday – April 25, 2025

Time: 11:00 AM – 12:00 PM

Description: Put your skills to the test in the Layout to Install Challenge! Contestants will be given the depth of a SignComp cabinet and must use eZLayout Builder to create an efficient and precise layout. Once the layout is generated, participants will bring their designs to life by accurately populating their cabinet with Principal Sloan modules according to the layout specifications.
